Kazuhiko Yoshino

Biography: Transition ''Time" is the theme of this photo series. Using flowers and my handmade object d'art as catalyst, time shows it's appearance on my photographic paper. I want to express "time'' in a photographic way and to have the viewers join me to feel the "time''. The process of decay witnessed through my lenses .....is like quietly fading away, .....is like brutally crashing down. Sometimes their beauty (which will never be the same when once lost) seems to have power to freeze the time to make their moment eternal. Every moment of the flowing time has it's own beauty. When I float on a time where things are experiencing their rich moments of decay, I take pictures of flowers and my object d'art ,and yet, I never take pictures of flowers and my object d'art. I hope to catch the drifting time itself. I want to express the reality of the time which is always slipping away, passing by, heading for eternity which is where it came from. Trace By making plaster casts of objects and using photography, I wish to evoke the traces and identity of the person who has held and used it.  When used, the ?gNature?h of the object is changed and its more personal elements can be drawn out and made clearer through the transformation that a cast makes to it. Before the object is transformed by the casting process it is transfixed by its Literal Identity and place but afterward it may be possible to free its more fleeting emotive and personal attachments and associations. These associations and the new space provided by the particular change of medium may promote the freedom to reflect and hold, perhaps in one?fs mind, differing feelings and memories. I would like to create a sense of the fleeting and the ephemeral. Our humanity, and the non corporeal. To try to create the conditions for a mindful space between an artist and one who may share similar experiences.
