Pierre Georgopoulos

Biography: Artist Statement for Pierre Georgopoulos "The imagination is the confluence, the meeting point between reality and abstraction" Thank you for visiting my art gallery. My name is Pierre, I am an artist, graphic designer, illustrator and photographer. I am what you would call a visual thinker, a multi-dimensional artist. As you will see I work in a diverse range of subjects and media. My goal is to create evocative memorable imagery through the use of playful organic forms. I like to "take the line for a walk", as Paul Klee used to say. Serendipity is an important element of my work. This helps give my images a quirky child like character. I fell in love with painting as a child. My love blossomed in High School where I finished in the top ten students in Australia. My art studies continued after college. My most recent projects are involved with the synthesis of painting and music, Jazz music in particular.I visualize music as colors, and through the music I transfer those colors to the canvas. Teaching art to children is a great inspiration for me. Artists can learn so much from children. Art history fascinates me as well and I write about it whenever I get the opportunity. Most of all I love to paint, I am very passionate about my painting. My exhibitions have received critical acclaim, but the most important thing for me is that I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people who have inspired and sup... to see complete biography, click on artists name Country: Australia Birthyear: 10/28/64 Galleries: Solander Galleries Novar Galleries CLETAD Tossolini's Gallery Grammar Gallery Awards: Top Ten Students of Australia Media: mixed media, Collage Style: abstract, Surrealistic Subjects: landscapes and nature, Music/ Light & Color/ Fractals/ Geometric Shapes
