Duffy Brown

Biography: My interest in the fine arts began when I became a docent in our local art museum. I attained an associate degree in art from their school and started making jewelry soon after. I learned metal smithing skills in the Craft Schools Penland and Arrowmont. I now sell primarily through art/fine craft galleries. My inspiration comes from nature, primarily. Sterling silver and found objects are my materials, most often. I have particularly enjoyed using river stones, colored porcelain shards, glass bead mosaic, and woven copper. I feel that my jewelry is a reflection of our present day lives. It is equally appropriate for casual wear and dressier occasions. It is very expressive and unique.
