 | Biography: I love bright, vibrant colors, and contrast. I have a passion for detail. I think that it is way too easy to miss the little things that abound around us. We have been surrounded by so many blessings that literally sweep by us, often without our ever noticing. I feel so lucky that I can magnify some of these things and bring them into focus for others. One of my other great joys in life is to make someone else smile. If my art can do that, then I feel that I have succeeded. Every time I get some pictures developed, I see something else that I would like to draw. I generally put an average of 13+ hours into each piece that I do.
I am a self-taught artist. I was the kid sitting in the back row of the class back in school drawing pictures of everything that she saw. I drew pictures for my friends, pictures of the teacher, and once I got in trouble for drawing Wonder Woman. Some boys paid me to draw her, and then they erased her clothes. It resulted in my one and only trip to the principal's office.
During my childhood, when anyone asked me what I was going to be when I grew up, I was always going to be a "rich and famous artist". As we all know, life's path is not always as straight at one plans for. This is undoubtably a blessing. I now have a husband and 5 kids. I ended up going to school for Mechanical Design, and earned my Associate's Degree in 1990. I have spent the last 11 years working as a drafter/designer in industrial settings. I can operate 5 different CAD systems, and I also can do NC programming. It is fun some days, but I can't help but feel like that fairy book character, Thumbalina. Remember her? She was forced to live underground, away from the beauty of the outside world.
My passion is for art; and I must follow my heart. I am so hoping to someday spend all of my days capturing this world's beauty and sharing it with others. I have always drawn pictures for people; and now I would like to offer my talents to you and your friends. Please keep me in mind when you, or a friend needs to find that perfect gift for someone you care for. I would love to work with you to create that perfect something.

I have participated in 2 local art festivals: One in Lake City, MN, and the the other one in Zumbrota, MN. I am scheduled to particapate in another art festival in Red Wing during the beginning of August this year. Awards: None yet. I haven't competed for any yet.
