Nestor Patialiakas Biography: Born in 1972 at the northeast end of Greece, I grew up in Alexandroupolis of Evros. In 1990 after high school graduation, I left for studies at Vero Beach of Florida, were I attended drawing and painting lessons at the Indian River County library, among my main training. My intense artistic activity around Byzantine art, commenced in 1996. At that time, I attended the School of Agiography of the Piraeus Metropolis. I graduated four years later with the general grade of nine. (Out of ten). My teachers were the Agiographers Konstandine Markopoulos (Headmaster of the school), George Bozas and Nickolaos Liondas. For the first two years, I have been taught the use of color and sketch by the painters Anastasios Misouras and Ioannis Kontaratos. I also attended the lessons of rythmology and history of the Art, by the Fine Arts Professor Mr. Karatzoglou and the sculptor Miltiades Tsomides. By the October of 2003 I acquire my workshop named Eudios Artitrechon. At the spring of 2004 the painting of the temple of Saint Timothys chapel is completed. (A private chapel of a Christian association at Alexandroupolis) In the mean time I paint portable icons for private collectors. Since September 2004 I have been assigned to paint in the Holy Cross church of Feres, (a small town close to Alexandrouplis). Two years later in 2006, I start painting in the church of Saint Basil the Great in Athens. In October 2006, I took part in the Fete del Europe, at the castle of Benouville (a small town close to Can at lower Normandy - France), where I presented the art of Byzantine agiography. The painting way I use to my art works is the one that Theophanes produced, but color enriched. My aim, is to practice the art of Byzantine agiography at the modern reality, paying attention and respect to the Byzantine tradition.
