ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
I always try and work from my intuition, trusting the process of creative play, imagination and memory. When I have an idea, I usually write it down as a word or phrase, or sketch in my journal. I might see something interesting while walking or watching a movie, reading a book, listening to music or recording a dream. Then one day I’ll start working with an idea and the images, marks, colors and words take form, sometimes as a drawing, a painting, a poem or objects arranged in a setting. I like to create several things at one time, diverging into a larger space of possibilities. As I begin working, images evolve and I am discovering in the process what I don’t know, or what I didn’t know I already knew.
