Mary E. Whitehill Biography: An artist all her life, Whitehill has concentrated on Watercolor Painting for the past 27 years. She studied with Edgar Whitney and has taken workshops with the best instructors in the US. Frank Webb, Carlton Plummer, Janet Walsh and Ruth Baderian are some of her favorites. Her style is slightly impressionistic and her subjects range from Landscapes, Gardens and florals to buildings, street scenes, figures and animals. After teaching for 19 years she now works plein-air and belongs to the New York Plein Air Painters. She is a signature member of Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, North East Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Club, NY as well as regional organizations in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. She has won many awards for her spontaneous impressions of the environment and has done hundreds of commissioned portraits of homes.
