Mark Ensslin Biography: Bio: Mark Ensslin Born in Hoboken, NJ 1954 Lives and works in Bergen County, NJ Education - MA Visual Arts William Paterson University Teaching positions Saddle Brook Community School, Bergen Community College Solo Exhibitions – 2002- Synaptic Pharmaceutical, Paramus, NJ “Portraits” 2003- Denver Press Club, Denver, CO “Awakening from dreams” Group shows - 2000 - Art on Summit, Union City, NJ 2000-2002 Faculty Art Shows BCC, Paramus, NJ 2001 Student Art show (grad) WPU, Wayne NJ 2002 TAI Gallery NYC, NY (Chelsea) “Portraits from the edge” Mark Ensslin was born in Hoboken, NJ in 1954 and raised with a strict Irish Catholic upbringing. He became a policeman in 1976 rising to the rank of sergeant when he became disabled in 1987. He began to take classes in photography in 1989 and continues to do so today. He has a Master’s degree in visual arts from William Paterson University. Make Ensslin lives and works in Bergen County, NJ and recently had a solo exhibit at the Denver Press Club Gallery. The Art: Traditionally crafted black & white photographs which Ensslin describes as, “Rarely if ever seen glimpses of: individuals, alter egos and the product of collaboration between photographer, friends, and acquaintances and appear much like street theater. Ensslin lives in Mahwah with his wife Peggy, has a master’s degree in art and teaches photography at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ. He has recently exhibited in Denver and Chelsea. (NYC) He is represented by Orbit Gallery in Edgewater, NJ.
