Karen Parker Biography: Karen Parker was born and raised in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. She received her BFA from UNC- Greensboro and her MFA from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Her work relies on classical masters for a foundation in realistic draftsmanship, accurate use of color and exquisite composition, yet each piece deftly incorporates modern themes and subjects. Karen’s award-winning paintings are found in public and private collections in U.S. and worldwide. Her portrait work has been recognized by leaders in the field, including Director of the National Portrait Gallery, Marc Prachter, as deserving recognition.
