John Fanning Biography: Getting right to the point, I love creating art, I am a self taught Abstract Artist using mostly Acrylic Medium. I learned the arts in The School Of Hard Knocks, Prior to 1993, I spent 24 hours a day for Twelve Years in Various Prisons practicing the creation of art. Not too long ago (its sad to say) I loved comitting crimes, robbing banks, living in the fast lane. To make a long story it short, I decided one day that I didn't like who I was, what I was doing, and decided to change my life, I did. It took me many years to learn how to live a normal life style, to be a father, a son, a brother, a lover, good citizen, and an artist. Simple thing to do for some. I decided to create art and to make a living selling art by using art as a way of self therapy to slow my mind down,it worked. I soon found out there was a demand for my work and became a full time artist. Today, I paint with the days emotions, it took me years to let go of some of my creations, do to the attachments of the work (see painting Family Secrets). I love using vivid colors, I paint so that each piece of my work stands out, I want my work to provoke conversation, it usually does. My recent creation of POPSEE NATION is very hot right now, increasing in value each week, these images are sold with conditions that you will live in a positive day, life style. I started this in order to follow my own sugestions of living positive one day at a time, minute to minute. Please view my work at www.artistjohnfanning.com PS; I hope I didn't sound crude with my back ground. I am ashamed of it, I tried to break it down in simple terms because of lack of space. I respect you and try to make ammends when possible. I bring this up because it has hurt me in the past for not disclosing it.
