Adelle Jean Biography: Adelle Jean paints whimsical and endearing scenes of both traditional and modern Jewish life. She combines a vibrant faith in Judaism, with vibrant colors and bright, cheerful images to create Judaic Folk Art that has a unique style all of her own. Adelle is a self taught artist who paints in spite of rather severe disabilities that might prevent others from attempting to become an artist. Adelle is legally blind in one eye and her other eye can not be corrected to 20/20 vision, so she is always visually impaired. She is so impaired that she cannot drive a car or read regular books but instead reads talking books. She also has arthritis of the spine, hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, neck, and hands. She has made progress, recently graduating from a wheelchair to a walker and now often uses a cane. She lives with her beloved in Southwest Washington, and the two women take in rescued pugs and Boston Terriers. Adelle sometimes paints dogs and sometimes cats as well. She is particularly good at pugs and is willing to do commissions in which all the profits go to Pug Rescue. (Pug's or dogs only, no people in them please) She also does commissions for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Weddings, Pesach, Chanukah, and other Simchas. Most of her paintings lend well to reproduction and Adelle makes pretty nice note cards at home on her computer. If you are interested in any painting being made into a card, please email Adelle and she will let you know the price and how it can be done. Thank you. Enjoy your visit and come again.
