- Ahmanson Ranch A very large hilly area with old oaks trees
that lies immediately north of Los Angeles County in upper Gates Canyon. The land is inhabited with rare plants and
animals and views of the undeveloped portion of Las Virgenes Canyon. Washington Mutual Bank has acquired the land
and seeks to continuously bulldoze it for years to develop a new city.

- Wheel to the Sea, a bi-annual wheelchair hike.
People who use wheelchairs are assisted in a 4 mile trek to the ocean by the Key Clubs of Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park
High Schools and other volunteers. Breakfast is provided by the Northridge Kiwanis and a beach barbeque by the Thousand Oaks
Kiwanis.
