Irina Kupyrova was born in 1961 in Kiev. From 1976 to 1980 she studied at the College of Fine Arts and Design, then was enrolled at the Painting Faculty of the Kiev State Academy of Fine Arts. At that period the painter took part in several art exhibitions.
Irina Kupyrova works in the genre of figurative, and prefers using live models. The painting technique is oil and canvas. The use of unexpected combinations of colours, vivid poses and complex patterns and ornaments make her work a bright example of stylised lady's portrait.
