Peter was born in Bangor, Maine in 1954. His family moved to Rochester, NY several years later where his father began working as a photography instructor for the Eastman Kodak Company.

Peter graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1980 with a BFA in fine art photography, filmmaking and animation. He started working at Kodak in 1974 and in 1985 was one of the original members of the new Electronic Photography Division when it was formed. His creative skills with the Macintosh computer he had purchased in 1984 led to him becoming a part of the advanced development team. There he helped to create many of the digital imaging products that we take for granted today.

In the early 1990 Peter established the first digital imaging training facility for Kodak and suggested the idea of creating a digital imaging school for customers which became the Center for Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine.

An interest in 3D illustration later led to working with the Dynamic Imaging Division. A group which created 3D and motion lenticular prints for the advertising industry.

He has been returning to Maine every year for the past quarter century to photograph and in 1995 began using digital cameras exclusively. In 1999 he traveled to Hawaii and photographed on the islands of Hawa'ii and Maui.

Today he is creative director of a 3d imaging company called Zaxys Depth & Motion Imaging.

His art takes two (sometimes overlapping) forms: digital landscape & nature photography and surrealistic 3d images as found in his Virtual Visions Gallery.
