Mona A. El-Bayoumi was born in Alexandria Egypt and moved to the United States with her family at the age of four. She grew up on East Lansing Michigan where her father was a professor and her mother completed her graduate work and taught. She later obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts with emphasis in painting and drawing from Michigan State University. She now resides in Washington, D.C., where she has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions in the city. Her artwork is part of private collections around the world.
Mona's vibrant painting style reflects the influence of North African roots, her training in the United States, and her extensive travel in Egypt, North Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. |
