Jack grew up in Rowena, Oregon near the Columbia River and spent a lot of time in the outdoors.
The beauty of nature with its diverse land forms and beautiful colors were something he wanted to capture. In high school he began painting landscapes in oil, but while attending college he discovered the freedom of watercolor.
Jack paints in all mediums, but watercolor is his favorite. The beauty and mood of the scene at the time are important to him and he tries to capture that in each painting.
Jack is a long standing member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and has exhibited his painting throughout the Northwest. |
