J.M.W. Turner (1775 - 1851)
A romantic landscape and marine artist, topographer and universal art visionary, pulsating with colour and atmospherics, Turner is considered Britain's greatest painter.
He was distinguished for his supremely accomplished watercolour paintings and his free and relaxed treatment of colour in art. He was an outstanding painting genius, who bridged the gap between English Eighteenth Century traditional landscape art and today's free flowing painting style. He painted English castles and seascapes.
