Born and raised in Japan, Chihiro enjoyed painting as a child. It became
clear at an early age that she was destined for a career in fine arts. Her
works can be described as realistic with a European and Japanese flavor.
After graduating from Musashino Art University College, Japan, she worked a
housing exterior company for several years as a professional perspective
creator. She then went on to pursuing her passion in watercolor painting.
She has been invited to prestigious international exhibitions such as
Thailand, Korea and Japan. Her works were selected into the Transparent
Watercolor Society of America's national exhibition and Watercolor West
International exhibition. Also, her works were featured on the cover and
interview for a cover story of the French magazine ‘Pratique des Arts’ and
the International Artist Magazine. She is a signature member of the
Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Japan Watercolor Society. Recently, she
restarted oil painting after almost two decades of focusing on watercolor.
With regained passion for oil paint, she became a juried associate member
of Oil Painters of America and her oil portrait process was featured on the
DANIEL SMITH Newsletter.
Chihiro enjoys expressing herself through a means of drawing that is
fulfilling for her life. She wishes her paintings to be comforting people
to live with for a long time.
